Brainspotting -“Where you look affects how you feel”

Brainspotting locates points in the client’s visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. Brainspotting (BSP) was discovered in 2003 by David Grand, Ph.D. Dr. Grand discovered that “Where you look affects how you feel.” It is the brain activity, especially in the subcortical brain that organizes itself around that eye position.

BSP makes use of this natural phenomenon through its use of relevant eye positions. This helps the BSP therapist locate, focus, process and release a wide range of emotionally and bodily-based conditions. BSP is also a brain-based tool to support the therapy relationship. We believe that BSP taps into and harnesses the body’s natural self-scanning, self-healing ability. When a Brainspot is stimulated, the deep brain appears to reflexively signal the therapist that the source of the problem has been found. BSP can also be used to find and strengthen our natural resources and resilience. BSP is designed as a therapeutic tool that can be integrated into many of the healing modalities. BSP is even more powerful when used with the enhancement of biolateral sounds.

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior. CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person’s perception of events – rather than the events themselves – that determines how he or she will feel and act in response. Most people with clearly defined behavioral and emotional concerns tend to reap the benefits of CBT. With CBT, you’ll be able to adjust the thoughts that directly influence your emotions and behavior.

    EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from different treatment approaches.

    Trauma Informed Coaching

Most people will experience trauma in their lifetime whether it’s a car accident, abuse or neglect, the sudden death of a loved one, a violent criminal act, exposure to the violence of war, or a natural disaster.

While many people can recover from trauma over time with the love and support of family and friends and bounce back with resiliency, others may discover the effects of lasting trauma, which can cause a person to live with deep emotional pain, fear, confusion, or posttraumatic stress far after the event has passed.

    Intensives

Sometimes we have so much we need to say and work on and 1 hour a week isn’t enough. These sessions are designed to be a deep dive into your concerns and can be tough, but I will be with you the whole time! I will be holding space for you, this means I will make sure you are safe and focused as you are processing.

We will spend the time processing, planning, and empowering you. Feel free to bring your beverage and a snack, we will take breaks as needed.

    Coaching for Life Transitions

There’s no denying that life often presents us with our fair share of challenges, usually in the form of sudden change. These life transitions, even the positive ones, can throw us into a tailspin and leave us feeling stressed, confused, and vulnerable. But with the right tools and mindset, you have the power to not only overcome any adversity but also transform into a more authentic and confident version of yourself.

    Narcissistic Abuse-Moving Forward and surviving

Being a victim of narcissistic abuse can make you feel like you’re alone in a dark place

You’re victimized by narcissistic abuse and may not realize what that is. You seem oblivious and disconnected from your own emotional pain and mental anguish. Instead of seeing the good in yourself,  you tend to be obsessed with your own failures, inadequacy, desperately seeking answers on how to solve the specific problems and flaws the narcissist has identified as causes for his misery.
